don't forget that if you spend $30,000 in a year on the card you'll get a "travel together" ticket so you can bring a friend on a reward flight for no extra charge :D
This does sound tempting though. 100,000 miles for signing up. Then another 100k after making your first purchase and then spending 2500 in 3 months. You could get 4 round trip economy flights to europe from north america for that. Or two business flights. Or a first class and an economy flight. There has to be a catch :) |

The card's annual fee is $95, but still, you can get 2 domestic or 1 trans-atlantic flight on the cheap. Plus, if you spend $2500 in 3 months, you get another 50K bonus miles, doubling the deal. |

I did this deal when it was offered last year. A couple of things to note:
1) You can't talk them into waiving the annual fee for the first year so plan on the $95 fee. 2) Perhaps more importantly, BA like most European airlines charge separately for huge fuel surcharges when redeeming ff awards. For example, although you can redeem 50k miles for an economy ticket from the US to London, the fuel surcharges and fees are over $400. Somehow $400 doesn't feel very "free" but it is still a decent deal compared to a paid ticket. There are some tricks to avoid the fuel surcharges, mainly redeeming the BA miles for American Airlines domestic trips instead. There is much discussion of this over on FlyerTalk. |
